MIKEL ARTETA hit back at claims his players are “overtrained” after two new injuries hit the Arsenal squad.

Leandro Trossard was confirmed to have re-injured the same ankle that saw him come off against Bayern Munich, while Max Dowman suffered an ankle injury in a behind-closed-doors match at the weekend.

As a result, Gabriel Jesus has now been registered in the youngster's place and has joined the team ahead of the clash with Club Brugge tonight.

But Arteta insisted it's not due to too much work on the training pitch, despite fierce theorising from supporters and critics that perhaps the team is being overloaded.
