BOWEN MAY HAVE BEST IN WESTERN

CHAMPION jockey Sean Bowen eclipsed the 200-winner mark last week and can add to that amazing total by booting in a treble at Huntingdon this afternoon, headlined by WESTERNINTHEPARK (2.45) in the feature two-and-a-half mile handicap chase.

Asmart novice hurdler, winning two of his four starts in that sphere, his best run came in defeat when an eye-catching fifth of 17 in the valuable EBF Hurdles Final at Sandown.

However, since switching to fences, his runs have been a very mixed bag.

Winner of his chasing debut at Stratford off 119, he has failed to defy much higher marks in eight races after being set some stiff tasks by Olly Murphy in much better events than this.
