Snowden hails his Grand Sefton comeback hero
COLONEL HARRY came back from a career-threatening injury to tame the Grand National fences in the William Hill Grand Sefton Chase.
The Jamie Snowden-trained eight-year-old developed a serious leg infection after falling at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.
But Gavin Sheehan's mount, having his first outing since, made the perfect debut over the world-famous obstacles to beat Gaboriot by two lengths.
“After he fell at Cheltenham he got a nasty injury in his back leg,” recounted Snowden. “There was no open wound, but it was a horrid infection. He was in the veterinary hospital for two weeks.
