Brandon's double puts Sky Blues on top after protest

EVEN a mini-pitch invasion from furious Sheffield Wednesday fans could not stop Frank Lampard's Coventry marching top of the Championship.

Two goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and another from Haji Wright gave Coventry a comfortable 3-0 lead before halftime.

The first half was delayed for five minutes due to the invasion by protesting Owls supporters. Further strikes from Ellis Simms and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto finished the job for the Sky Blues who should really have scored more.

Lampard said: "All the work that we do is coming together. It won't always be that way but at this point, yeah, we're very clinical in front of goal."
