100-1 and 200-1 winners stun Ascot

NO-HOPERS celebrated long into the night on British Champions Day as the most lucrative racecard in the sport's history also proved its most unpredictable.

Cicero's Gift served up a skinner for the bookies at 100-1 in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes - but even his victory was obvious compared to the 200-1 shock sprung by Powerful Glory in the British Champions Sprint, with five Group One races and £4.35m in prize money, the QIPCO-sponsored finale to the 2025 Flat season was conceived to salute the cream of the thoroughbred crop.

None more so than the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, in which eight of the 16 starters had triumphed at the top level.
