Cadden hails Scotland star who has been ‘brilliant’ for him and team

- BY DARREN JOHNSTONE

CHRIS CADDEN knew Hibs were onto a good thing with Grant Hanley after the Scotland defender offered healing advice over his ruptured Achilles.

Hanley reminded the Tartan Army he still has plenty to offer after delivering a man-of-the-match display in last Friday’s battling goalless draw in Denmark.

Teammate Cadden was delighted for the 33-year-old summer signing and revealed how the former Norwich City centre-back reached out to him when he picked up the serious foot injury on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign.

He said: “Grant was brilliant and he’s been amazing since he came in.

“T actually knew him before he came here because he ruptured his Achilles seven weeks before me.

“Tve got the same agent as him but he messaged me out of the blue.

“Tt was just to say, ‘look, if you need any help or advice or whatever’.

“So he actually helped me through my rehab. I knew when he came in he would be a great guy. He's not really proved me wrong ~ he’s been brilliant.
