Rovers get derby joy and hit the summit as well

RAITH grabbed Fife derby bragging rights and stormed top of the table with goals from Lewis Stevenson and Lewis Vaughan.

The home side took command just 66 seconds in when Stevenson converted from close range to score only his 11th career goal across two decades.

And just when a tense finish looked likely, sub Vaughan smashed in a second from the edge of the box in the 78th minute.

Rovers boss Barry Robson said: "It's not a game of pure football.

"It looked like a derby and we played like a derby - it wasn't going to be pretty.

"I'm pleased we performed well in it. We can play with the ball and we're actually better than that. You can see the quality from the team and we got off to a great start."

Raith could not have asked for better. The ball broke to Paul McMullan inside the box from Dylan Easton's charging run and he squared for Stevenson to prod home.
