Goodwin: Bojan will be a hit for new boss if Gers show him sight of goal

- BY SCOTT BURNS

JIM GOODWIN has told the next Rangers manager Bojan Miovski can fire them to glory.

The struggling Ibrox club are in the process of recruiting a new boss after sacking Russell Martin before the international break.

Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is among the candidates under consideration, after Steven Gerrard opened talks and then decided to pull out of the running for the vacant post.

Goodwin is in no doubt Miovski will become a main player for Rangers, whoever is in charge.

The Dundee United gaffer rates him highly and if they create chances for him then he believes he can even finish as the Premierships top scorer.

The North Macedonia international was challenging for that title in his time at Aberdeen, after Goodwin had signed him from MTK Budapest for just over £500,000.

Miovski proved himself at Pittodrie and won a big-money move to Girona but he failed to make the step up and returned to Scotland to rebuild at Rangers in the last window.

The 26-year-old opened his Premiership account against Falkirk before the break.

Goodwin knows if the incoming manager and his team supply the opportunities then Miovski can be the man who grabs the glory. He said: “I followed Bojan in Spain to see how he was getting on and I know he was extremely frustrated at the lack of game time and lack of starts.
