Super Scott's ready to take over the world
Daily Record
|June 11, 2026
GARY McALLISTER reckons Scott McTominay is ready to make his mark on the world stage after "taking over Serie A".
The former Scotland skipper still can't fathom why Manchester United let the midfielder leave for Napoli two years ago.
Tartan Army talisman McTominay hasn't looked back, winning the Italian title and footballer of the year award in his first season before lifting the Supercoppa Italia last year.
Now, after hitting his 15th international goal in the 4-0 battering of Bolivia last Saturday, McTominay is primed to prove he belongs at the World Cup.
And McAllister reckons the 29-year-old's quality in the engine room beside Lewis Ferguson and John McGinn can be the difference-maker for boss Steve Clarke.
He said: "I watched Manchester United after Sir Alex Ferguson with all the changes of managers that Scott worked under.
"Every time I watched them, I felt McTominay was one of the best players.
