SNP must appeal to all of Scotland

The Nats have struggled to formulate a credible position on the issue since a court ruled Holyrood could not organise IndyRef2.

John Swinney's plan to use an outright SNP majority as the basis for talks on a referendum will almost certainly be passed by delegates.

But while the SNP and independence go together like strawberries and cream, Swinney must not limit himself to talking to his core vote.
