AN ex-SNP politician was facing jail yesterday after being found guilty of sexually assaulting five young men and boys aged 15 to 22.
Jordan Linden, 30, former leader of North Lanarkshire Council and chair of the Scottish Youth Parliament, also sent sex images to seven teenagers aged from 14.
The offences spanned 10 years from 2011 to 2021 during Linden's time at North Lanarkshire, the youth parliament and the SNP's youth wing, Young Scots for Independence.
Linden appeared to choke back tears as the verdicts were announced.
He was found not guilty of a sixth charge of sexual assault and was acquitted of five other charges of stalking and sexual assault.
Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until May 5 for reports and continued bail.
