THE Princess of Wales pulled out of Royal Ascot at the last minute as she continues to strike the right balance after her cancer treatment.
Racegoers had hoped to see Kate, 43, at the festival's royal procession with the King and Queen. It was announced she'd be in a carriage with Prince William but 20 minutes later her no-show was confirmed.
It is understood Kate was upset to miss the horse racing but is trying to find the right balance as she fully returns to public engagements.
A royal source said the Palace has stressed the need for "flexibility" over her appearances.
In the past week she had three engagements, including Trooping the Colour on Monday.
