Super City storm into last 16 with thumping victory over Italian giants

ERLING HAALAND chalked up his 300th career goal as Manchester City blitzed Juventus in the Club World Cup.

City striker Haaland, a half-time substitute, scored in a thumping win to seal top spot in Group G and book their place in the last 16 in Orlando on Monday.

Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Savinho also struck while Juve’s Pierre Kalulu put through his own net.

But it was also the sheer scale of the win which will make City’s rivals in this competition sit up and take notice.

City boss Pep Guardiola said: “I liked the way we did it. It has been a long time since we had a performance like this on and off the ball. The players were committed and we are happy to beat a top side.

"This is just one game, but I think the players felt again what it was like to be a good team. The belief always comes from your performances, not your past.”
