Sailor's letters reveal astonishing wartime loch monster encounter

THE Loch Ness Monster may have been caught by the Navy during World War II, according to extraordinary new evidence.

The encounter only came to light after a man unearthed letters sent to his late sailor grandad from Nessie investigators.

Lewis Tyler, who served aboard HMS Ocean Swell laying antisubmarine nets, is said to have caught a sea serpent in the gear at the loch.

His grandson John Gibbens revealed the astonishing story - and still has the letters that prove it.
