Aasgaard 4-year deal as Russ says he wants 'desperate' players

RUSSELL MARTIN insists he only wants players who are "desperate" to play for Rangers as the Ibrox boss closes in on a £3million deal for Thelo Aasgaard.

Record Sport understands the Luton Town midfielder is expected to finalise a four-year switch today after completing part of his medical in England yesterday before travelling to Glasgow.

The 22-year-old Norway international could even be unveiled to supporters tomorrow when Gers take on Club Brugge in Martin's first home game in charge. Aasgaard will become Martin's fourth summer signing following Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez.
