Leonard is thrilled to join the fight and hopes a title-winning experience at St Andrews last term can be of benefit.
The 24-year-old helped Birmingham surge to last year's English League One trophy and believes that relentless charge can assist the Jambos.
He said: “Definitely. Last year we went on a great run and broke the [Football League] points record [with 108 points].
“All experiences can help benefit this team and that is what I hope to do.”
