DAVID DRYSDALE'S near two-decade winless wait is over after he and caddying wife Vicky teamed up to capture the first Vattanac Legends Championship in Cambodia.

- BERNIE McGUIRE

It’s been along 19 years for Team Drysdale but thanks to a super final round the couple are now winners in Drysdale’s maiden Legends Tour season.

Double-D, as he is affectionately known, posted an eagle and four birdies in a third and final round 66 to win by a shot with a 12-under tally on the Vattanac Resort course.

Along with the eagle there were 13 birdies over the three days - including a birdie at the 18th in each round - dropping only three shots to claim the £72,500 first prize that has the Scot now lying seventh on the Legends Tour money list.
