Well boss has his players banging in spot-kicks so in-laws not disappointed

- BY SCOTT BURNS

MOTHERWELL boss Jens Berthel Askou will make sure his side are spot-on for their Premier Sports Cup semifinal - because he doesn't want to disappoint his in-laws.

The Steelmen are out to book their place in the showpiece when they take on St Mirren at Hampden tomorrow evening.

‘And Askou has his players “banging in penalties” in case the big match goes all the way to a shootout.

His wife's parents have made the journey from Denmark for what he hopes will be a night that everyone of a claret-and-amber persuasion can enjoy.

Askou said: “My in-laws are actually coming over, I'm picking them up today.

“They're from Jutland. I'm really excited, I look forward to seeing them and they're really excited also to have the opportunity to go to Hampden.

“They are fantastic people, so it’s going to be some really good days for them?

Motherwell are looking to lift the League Cup for the first time in 75 years.

Askou is preparing for every eventuality and that includes a potential penalty shootout.

The Dane admitted: “The only thing that we have done a little bit differently is that we have trained a little bit more penalties lately and tried to incorporate that in the small-sided games.

“So it has been given an edge of competitiveness - and also with a little bit of heart rate up when we take the penalties.

“So far it has looked good, they've been banging penalties in the back of the net.
