Zelensky slams Russia as Ukraine is hit by one of biggest blitzes of year just days after peace talks
RUSSIA has unleashed one of its biggest aerial attacks on Ukraine this year, just days after crunch peace talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
A total of 574 drones and 40 missiles were fired overnight into yesterday, mostly targeting the country’s western regions.
At least one person was killed and over a dozen were injured, according to officials.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack. He added: "Last night, the Russian army set one of its insane anti-records.
"They targeted civilian infrastructure facilities, residential buildings and our people."
He added: "The Russians carried out this attack as if nothing has changed at all, as if there are no global efforts to stop this war.
