Rivals a different proposition under Rohl as Del digs deep

DEREK MCINNES insists a detailed analysis of tomorrow's rivals under Danny Rohl reveals a resurgent Rangers who've gone back to basics.

The Hearts boss was wholesome in his praise of the German, who takes his side to Gorgie boasting an unbeaten league record since replacing a hapless Russell Martin in October.

Martin’s high-risk possession-based philosophy has been replaced by a more pragmatic approach under Rohl.

McInnes watched the Ibrox side beat Hibs 1-0 last Monday night and witnessed a revitalised force to be reckoned with.

He said: “Danny's done well since he arrived.

“He's come in and been really pragmatic domestically.

“Rangers have made some good progress in terms of results.

“I went to Ibrox to watch the game against Hibs.

“While the game was pretty even, it was also quite open at times in the first half.

“Once Rangers scored I thought they were pretty secure with their work. They never really put the game at risk too much. So considering where Rangers were when he came in, the results have improved and he deserves a lot of credit.

“It’s a different type of Rangers team but there are still a lot of good players, regardless of systems and approaches or managers.
