Energy firms must support customers in vulnerable situations

MY EMERGENCY credit is nearly gone on my prepayment meter and my heating is about to switch off. Is there any help to keep me going until payday?

RUNNING out of credit on a prepayment meter can be stressful, especially if you rely on it for heating and hot water. The good news is there are steps you can take straight away.

Contact your energy supplier as soon as possible.

All suppliers must have support in place for customers in vulnerable situations. They may be able to give you a small amount of extra emergency credit.

Some suppliers also offer friendly-hours credit so your supply does not cut off overnight or at weekends.

If you are struggling due to financial hardship, you may be able to get additional support credit.

Always explain your circumstances and ask what options are open. You may also be able to get a fuel voucher.
