Parkhead is the perfect stage for this Super Eagle to fly again

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

KELECHI IHEANACHO has spent most of his career as a leading man - only to be left in a supporting role of late.

But Nigeria legend Finidi George is convinced the striker has found the perfect stage at Parkhead to start shining again.

Iheanacho's arrival at Celtic a day after the transfer deadline did little to lift the mood of a Hoops fan base left fuming at the cracks in the window.

The Nigeria frontman may have hit great heights during his time with Manchester City and Leicester but he suffered during his spell at Sevilla and had an even more miserable time on loan at Middlesbrough.

There were grumbles about the form and fitness of a player who was a favourite for seven seasons with the Foxes and forever hailed a hero for his part in the club's FA Cup win under Brendan Rodgers.

The manager turned to his former charge when time and options were running out on deadline day and some punters reckon Iheanacho's signing was a sign of desperation.
