Survivor tells how thug threw her off banister after she snubbed kiss

A WOMAN woke up paralysed after her abusive ex-boyfriend pushed her over a banister when she refused to give him a “New Year's kiss”.

Janine Kazmi, 38, was left disabled after Barry Shankly, 45, became “enraged” their relationship ended two months earlier. After refusing to kiss him on Hogmanay in 2020, Shankly shoved Janine over the staircase at his house in Dalmarnock, Glasgow, and broke her spine.

“I told him our relationship wasn't like that any more and he pushed me.”
