Blakey deserves a tot of Rum at Carlisle to give handler Ewan the perfect tonic

BLAKEY BOY (3.52) can assert his authority in the Red Rum Series Final Chase at Carlisle.

Ewan Whillans' horse built on some fine efforts by slamming Rob Roy Macgregor at Ayr.

The gelding remains nicely unexposed over fences so he can land a competitive handicap and the shrewd trainer can double up with SCOTS POET (2.45) in the Mark Neild Hurdle.

The 10-year-old ran well again over fences when third behind Sattam at Musselburgh. The gelding looks fairly treated in this sphere so he can claim another tricky handicap.

ROCKING MAN (1.45) can get back on track for Sam Thomas in the novices' hurdle.

The gelding should benefit from a drop in trip and class after pulling up at Doncaster.
