A CATFISHING former soldier has avoided jail because he has “served his country.”
Online romance scammer Robi MacBain stole a stranger's identity to lure several women bizarrely including his own ex-girlfriend into online relationships with him, four of whom trusted him enough to send him nude selfies.
He walked free from court last year after having conditions placed on his use of social media.
