Ex-Alba boss says widow wrong to sue

ONE of Alex Salmond's closest allies believes his widow's plan to sue the SNP government over an unlawful sex harassment probe should be dropped.

Chris McEleny said going to court will damage the independence movement and the former first minister would not have pursued the case if still alive.

Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon fell out spectacularly when her government investigated him over claims of misconduct.

A judge ruled the probe had been "tainted with apparent bias" and the Scottish Government admitted the investigation had been unlawful.
