'KEYBOARD WARRIORS' SLAMMED
COMMITTEE members at an under-fire football club on Anglesey have been subjected to “unacceptable levels of abuse” in the wake of an on-field incident in the match between Trearddur Bay and Porthmadog earlier this month.
As previously reported in The Daily Post, a 35-year-old player was arrested on suspicion of assault following the match in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, on Saturday, January 17.
He was later bailed without charge as police continue to investigate.
Following an extraordinary general meeting last week, Trearddur Bay FC announced it had released the player and offered its “sincere apologies” to the opposition player involved in the alleged incident.
Despite pledging to make no further comment, the club has again taken to social media, claiming several committee members have received “threats to personal safety”.
Trearddur Bay FC also explained why it has been forced to postpone recent fixtures.
