Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has revealed the enormous pressure of leading the club's meteoric rise through the divisions.

The North Wales side's remarkable transformation under Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac has been truly spectacular, catapulting Wrexham from National League anonymity to worldwide fame. Parkinson, who took charge in July 2021 whilst the club remained in non-league football, has guided them through an incredible three consecutive promotions.

Currently positioned 10th in the Championship and only three points from the playoff places, he acknowledges the path hasn't always been smooth. The ex-Sunderland boss said his most challenging spell arrived following his failure to secure promotion during his first season.

The subsequent campaign delivered the most intense weight of expectation as the Red Dragons pursued their eagerly anticipated return to the Football League. Wrexham ultimately clinched the National League crown with a record-setting 111 points in April 2023 following a thrilling battle with Notts County.
