STREET CORDONED OFF AFTER SUSPECTED MORTAR FOUND

A STREET was cordoned off in a North Wales village after a suspected mortar shell was found.

The alert was raised in the village of Acrefair, in Wrexham.

Residents say they understood the "bomb" was found by a telecoms engineer during routine work.
