Robber told tourist he would 'cave his head in'

A MAN threatened to “cave in” a tourist's head during a robbery. Carl Hefin Jones had ridden up to his victim on a bike and pulled his rucksack off him.

The victim - Roy Kay - then hid in a bush before Jones returned to the scene. Jones, 35, admitted robbing his victim on the Cob on Conwy Bridge, between Llandudno Junction and Conwy on May 25.

Yesterday a judge at Mold Crown Court said the public expects courts to give a “robust” response to such offenders. He jailed Jones, of no fixed address, for two years for robbery.

Prosecutor Oliver King said the defendant rode up to Mr Kay at 3am that morning. The defendant appeared to be drunk, was slurring his words and claimed he had lost his watch.
