POLICE have made an arrest after a ‘racial slur’ incident during a North Wales football match.

Player racially abused during football match

It happened during the Ardal Leagues North West clash between Llangefni Town Football Club and Trearddur Bay Football Club on Friday.

A North Wales Police Anglesey statement said: “We are investigating a hate-related incident that took place at a football match between Llangefni Town Football Club and Trearddur Bay Football Club.

“It is reported that a racial slur was shouted towards one of the players by a spectator at the match on Friday, October 24.
