AN eye-popping photo of the moon behind Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) has left people spellbound.

- By ANDREW FORGRAVE

The “one-in-a-million” image sent social media into meltdown after it was posted on Saturday night (April 12).

It was captured in the early hours of Saturday morning by a photographer who has been trying to get the shot for five years.

Photographed from 2.5 miles away, it left many people startled to see just how many people summit Yr Wyddfa during the night to watch the sunrise.

"Holy Moly, that is absolutely incredible," said one person online when the image was shared by photographer Tony Harnett. A woman added: "This is absolutely unbelievable - what a shot! Just shown the entire family as it took my breath away." Within 12 hours, the image had attracted 1,200 expressions of admiration.

Tony, a printmaker from Warrington, Cheshire, has a campervan and spends much of his time in northwest Wales.
