Labour support plummets in poll as by-election looms

A SURVEY of residents in Caerphilly has revealed a potentially shocking outcome could be brewing in the constituency for next week's by-election.

The polling indicates that in this traditional Labour stronghold, the party has plummeted to a distant third place.

Whilst the sample size is fairly modest at 501 respondents, it represents the first survey specifically canvassing Caerphilly voters’ opinions, with just days remaining before polling stations open on October 23.

The research shows that if the election were conducted today, Reform UK would win with 42% of the vote, Plaid Cymru would take second position with 38%, whilst Labour would tumble to a remote third with 12%.

The constituency has exclusively been represented by Labour both in Westminster and the Senedd.
