I saw the fear on people's faces at victory parade

Jo Ridout attended the Liverpool trophy parade and says the atmosphere was electric -before the horror struck
-
THE atmosphere in Liverpool was even more incredible than I was expecting, as my family and I stood for over seven hours in the rain to be part of the Liverpool FC victory parade, celebrating the manager, players and club winning the Premier League.
The mood was at a level I have never felt before in the decades I have enjoyed visiting Liverpool, including past parades - everyone singing, laughing, chatting to strangers all united by one thing; a passionate love for the club and the amazing achievement.
On the day of the parade we arrived at 10am on The Strand and over the next seven hours the singing became louder and constant, even in the driving rain, as thousands more fans joined us, including from all over the UK and the world - welcomed by the residents of the city, as always.
Finally, the bus emerged from the red smoke and the air was filled with fireworks, music and the crowd singing and jumping with pure joy as the bus passed by and the players waved. Then it was over and we all agreed it had been an incredible experience.
