Conservatives unveil plan 'to fix NHS' in Wales

THE Welsh Conservatives have set out plans to "declare a national health emergency and take immediate action to increase NHS capacity and restore patient safety" across Wales, ahead of the Senedd elections.

Under proposals published in their Plan to Fix the NHS and Social Care, the Welsh Conservatives said they would trigger a Covid-type emergency response to tackle excessive waiting times, ambulance delays and corridor care, if they were elected in May.
The proposals were laid out as the party's conference took place in Llandudno at the weekend. The plan includes:
■ Declaring a health emergency to initiate urgent system-wide action;
