Compensation revealed after big water outage
Daily Post
|August 22, 2025
COMPENSATION arrangements have been announced for customers affected by Flintshire's water outage.
Household payments are as anticipated - but Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has now confirmed exactly what businesses can expect.
The company said the incident, caused by a burst main five metres underground, required a "very challenging emergency repair" near electric cables and properties in Broughton.
Some 506km of pipes were affected across the county.
Although water supplies have since been restored to all areas, engineers remain on standby in case problems arise as the network "settles into normal operation".
Dŵr Cymru teams are still reinstating the site and demobilising machinery. The company expects the road will be returned to its former condition "within the next week".
