Cafe 21, Prestatyn

CAFE 21 at the North Wales Bowls Centre in Prestatyn, offers an unusual retreat for both visitors and locals alike.

Let's face it, you don't often see a cafe next to an artificial indoor bowling green.The gentile game of bowls has a slightly unfair reputation of attracting the retired and the elderly, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when we rocked up at the NWBC near Prestatyn.

It doesn’t seem to matter if you don’t know the difference between a finger or thumb bias, as you can just watch the game unfold from the comfort of a chair with a steaming hot drink in front of you.

The Denbighshire leisure backed cafe is named after the number of points, aimed for, in a game of indoor bowls. It was far too wet to take advantage of the small outside terrace, but it looked a nice spot to sit in and watch the world go by in the spring and summer.

Inside, the venue provides an inviting warm atmosphere, away from the biting cold coastal wind. There was a welcoming vibe with plenty of contemporary tables and seating with views of the green artificial pitch. Each table had a menu, which appeared to offer a mixture of breakfast, brunch and light bites options, during the day.
