KARL-HEINZ Rummenigge insists Florian Wirtz would have been better off joining Bayern Munich this summer rather than Liverpool.

The Bavarians had been favourites to sign the Germany international, only for him to ultimately snub their advances in favour of a switch to Anfield.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds in an initial £100m deal from Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Bayern bosses angered at missing out on the playmaker as a result.
Since seeing Wirtz join Liverpool, they have fired numerous digs in the direction of both player and club.
