The importance of long-term financial investments, especially for women
Daily News
|August 04, 2025
AS PART of commemorating Women's Month, financial expert Dr Darlene Kalonji Mbukula has urged women to take long-term financial investments to safeguard their children’s future.
Mbukula, an expert in the field, said that this month was the right time to reflect on the evolving role of women in society, particularly as financial leaders and caregivers, during woman's month.
She said the Statistics South Africa 2019 Report showed 44% of households were women-headed, which highlights the vital role women played in sustaining families and communities.
Mbukula said she was concerned that despite their growing economic influence, many women were underinsured, leaving their families vulnerable.
