THE South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment schedule for social grants in January 2026, while reiterating the importance of beneficiary biometric verification as a key safeguard against fraud.

According to SASSA, Older Persons' Grants will be paid from today, followed by Disability Grants tomorrow, and children's grants on Thursday.
The agency said payments will be made through the usual channels, including bank accounts and approved pay points.
SASSA said that beneficiaries must ensure their personal details were updated to avoid disruptions.
