Slot sends on two subs, and Tsimikas crosses for Diogo to rescue a point
SOMETIMES in football, fortune favours the brave. Arne Slot displayed that trait at the City Ground last night. And he was rewarded. Liverpool's boss decided to roll the dice as it appeared stacked against him - and in so doing he prevented Forest chief Nuno Espirito Santo from blowing the title race wide open.
Trailing to a goal from Chris Wood - who else - the Reds were desperately seeking a route back into a game that had been frustratingly out of their reach. But Slot (circle) turned to his subs' bench to swap a defender with a forward - and it paid off. That Diogo Jota scored with his first touch was incredible enough. But, equally unbe- lievably, it was a similar story from the man who joined him and delivered the 57th-min- ute corner - Kostas Tsimikas.
Little Portuguese striker Jota ghosted into the six-yard box without any red shirt tracking him, heading the lev- eller which not only doused Forest's fire but also breathed fresh life into the visitors.
