Not the Goodfellas, of course, although I did read that the word “mob” originates from the Latin phrase “mobile vulgus” or “excitable crowd”.

And that latter phrase could be used to describe the social media firestarters now coming after Neville for correctly calling out the systematic attempts to tear this country apart.

"I just kept thinking, as I was driving home last night, that we're all being turned on each other," Neville said.

"And the division that’s being created is absolutely disgusting."

Hate and division have been a business model across all forms of media for years now.

Now, because the whole thing has been turbocharged by social media, we've reached a point where logic and reason are being shouted down by ire and fury.

Extreme right-wing xenophobia is making it into the mainstream because media platforms are thirsty for the engagement it drives.
