Former United star Brown dreading waiting decades For next title....& urges Amorim & Sir Jim to make sure it doesn't happen

- BY JEREMY CROSS

SORT IT DROUGHT

WES BROWN does not want to contemplate the unthinkable prospect of Manchester United emulating rivals Liverpool for all the wrong reasons.

Liverpool once went three decades without being crowned English champions, until winning the title under Jurgen Klopp in 2020.

And now a similar scenario is gripping the Red Devils with dread, as the years roll on without them even threatening to be the kings of English football again.

It is now more than a decade since United were last crowned champions, which came in 2013 in Sir Alex Ferguson's final act as manager.

There is still a long way to go for United to find themselves matching Liverpool's unwanted record.

But the notion is not out of the question and former Old Trafford favourite Brown admits it is down to the new ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe (right, with his staff) and INEOS not to mention manager Ruben Amorim - to make sure it does not occur.
