AN ongoing battle with injury has forced 47-year-old amateur jockey David Maxwell to quit race riding.
The two-time champion fractured his back for the fourth time when Joker De Mai fell in the Foxhunters' Chase at Aintree's Grand National meeting in April.
It led to Maxwell, a millionaire property developer who took up racing his own horses as a hobby, having an issue with one of his arms.
