I'm sad partner's family has no role in our child's life

I'm a woman in my 30s and have been with my partner for two years, and we have a baby.

It should be a joyful time, but his mum makes it impossible. In a nutshell, she hates me and so my partner has cut her off.

I know he's just sticking up for me, which I appreciate, but I find the whole situation stressful and feel guilty, even though I've done nothing wrong.

She hates me because she wrongly believes I broke up my partner's marriage. The truth is, he'd already separated from his wife when we met, and his ex-wife was the one who had an affair, but his mum doesn't want to hear it.

She also believes he should have fought for the marriage and gone to therapy, but neither he nor his ex wanted to.
