THOMAS TUCHEL insists that he would have lost all credibility if he had gone back on a dressing room promise to his players.

The England boss revealed it would not just be Jude Bellingham missing out on his squad had it not been for injuries - because Bukayo Saka would not have made the cut either.

The England manager has caused shockwaves by leaving out Real Madrid superstar Bellingham now he is fit again.

Bellingham missed last month's 5-0 win in Serbia - which Tuchel says was England's best performance under his reign and saw the likes of Morgan Rogers, Noni Madueke and Elliot Anderson stepping up to the plate.

Tuchel says that he spoke to the players in the dressing room and promised to reward their performances.
