PM hopes shake-up is a landmark moment | Care in community push plus tech boost
KEIR Starmer has unveiled a 10-year blueprint to transform the health service and said he hopes it will be a major turning point in the history of the NHS.
He set out plans to shift care from hospitals to the community as well as ramping up the harnessing of technology.
The reforms include an enhanced NHS app for patients to be able to book appointments, order prescriptions or view their data.
Access to weightloss jabs will also be widened, with suggestions people may soon get them via shopping centres.
Labour declared the health service was broken when it was elected last year. But ahead of the 77th anniversary of the creation of the health service tomorrow, the PM said yesterday the future already looks much better for the NHS under Labour.
