Reeves and TUC round on Farage

- LIZZY BUCHAN

FRIEND OF WORKING PEOPLE? WHAT A JOKE...

HE presents himself as a true man of the people, but Reform UK leader Nigel Farage would be a disaster for British workers.

That's the message from Labour and trade b union leaders in the wake of Reform's annual la conference - which Chancellor Rachel Reeves lo will today call a "clown show".

On Friday, Mr Farage claimed: "We are the patriotic party. We are the party that stands up for decent working people." But Prime Minister Keir Starmer last night called Reform "plastic patriots" in a meeting with Labour MPs in Parliament.

And Trades Union Congress leader Paul Nowak yesterday branded Mr Farage and deputy Richard Tice "right-wing con men".

In a speech today, Ms Reeves will take aim at Reform's economic plans. She will say: "This is an Labour government is building an economy that works for working people - and rewards working people. That means cutting the deficit, getting debt falling and investing responsibly.
