Ex-FBI boss is 'targeted' in lie charge

A FORMER director of the FBI has been charged with lying to Congress.

A grand jury yesterday indicted James Comey, who led the FBI from 2013 to 2017, on a charge of giving false evidence to US legislators during testimony in 2020.

As US President Trump fired Mr Comey in 2017, while he was investigating possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, some saw the charge as politically motivated.
