Bishop's mum killed on recycling route

COUNCIL chiefs have been rapped after a bishop's 89-year-old mother was killed by a recycling lorry in a seaside town.

Daphne Stallard was crushed to death after the vehicle reversed down a narrow street on September 1, causing fatal chest injuries.

A man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under investigation, and officials at Conwy council in North Wales were served with an enforcement notice after the tragedy.
